Physiotherapy Volunteer Opportunities
Use Your Physiotherapy Skills to Restore Mobility, Independence & Dignity
Imagine an elderly woman who hasn't walked unaided in two years. Imagine a grandfather who has given up playing with his grandchildren because his joints hurt too much. For countless seniors in underserved communities and care homes across India, this is not a temporary setback — it is their daily reality.
Physiotherapy has the power to change this. And you have the skills to make that change happen.
Overall Elder lives impacted
States Covered
At Vridhcare, our physiotherapy volunteer opportunities connect compassionate professionals and students with elderly individuals who desperately need mobility care. Over the past year, we have conducted dedicated physiotherapy sessions in Jaipur, launched pain relief and mobility outreach programmes in Hyderabad, and established fully-equipped physiotherapy units across Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Odisha — supported by CSR partners like Blue Star Foundation and Dabur.
Whether you choose to volunteer at a community physiotherapy camp, join an outreach session, or enrol in a structured physiotherapy internship for students, your time and expertise directly translate into restored movement, reduced pain, and renewed hope.
This is healthcare volunteering at its most tangible. You will not be filing papers. You will be holding hands, guiding exercises, and watching someone take their first independent steps in years.
Our Impact: Physiotherapy Work Across India
Before you join us, take a moment to see what your fellow volunteers and our partner organisations have already achieved. These are not plans or proposals — they are completed and ongoing initiatives where real patients received real care.
| Date | Activity | Location | Key Highlights |
|---|---|---|---|
| June 2026 | Physiotherapy Camp & Mobility Session | Ashirvad Old Age Home, Jaipur | A focused session helping seniors improve mobility, reduce joint discomfort, and maintain independence in daily activities. |
| June 2026 | Pain Relief & Mobility Outreach (with Curapod) | Amma Nanna Old Age Home, Hyderabad | Awareness and live demonstration of non-invasive pain management technology for elderly residents and their caregivers. Focused on improving comfort and daily mobility. |
| 2025–26 (Ongoing) | Physiotherapy Unit Programme | Multiple Locations: Delhi, Ahmedabad, Odisha | Establishment and ongoing support of dedicated physiotherapy units inside old age homes, enabling regular rehabilitative care for elderly residents. |
| 2025–26 (Ongoing) | CSR-Supported Physiotherapy Units (Blue Star Foundation) | Four Centres (Multi-city) | Blue Star Foundation, through Vridhcare, actively supports physiotherapy units across four centres, directly improving mobility and quality of life for hundreds of elderly beneficiaries. |
| FY 2024–25 | Specialised Physiotherapy Lab (Dabur CSR) | Old Age Home, Delhi | Dabur's CSR initiative, implemented via Vridhcare, installed a fully-equipped physiotherapy lab. The lab continues to serve residents through regular health camps and wellness activities. |
Behind every row in this table are real seniors — grandmothers and grandfathers — who can now perform daily tasks with less pain and more confidence.
By volunteering with us, you become part of this ongoing story.
Our Physiotherapy Programmes
If you are a physiotherapy student — whether pursuing your Bachelor's or Master's — you already know that practical experience is irreplaceable. Classroom knowledge forms the foundation, but it is the hours spent with real patients that transform a student into a competent, confident practitioner.
Vridhcare offers a structured NGO physiotherapy internship designed specifically for students. Depending on your location and availability, you may be placed in one of our established physiotherapy units (such as the Dabur-supported lab in Delhi or a Blue Star Foundation-supported centre) or you may accompany our outreach teams to community camps.
This is more than just volunteer hours. It is supervised clinical exposure, working directly with geriatric patients under the guidance of experienced physiotherapists — often in facilities specifically built for this purpose through our CSR partnerships.
What You Gain as a Student Volunteer/Intern:
-
Hands-On Patient Contact: Work with elderly individuals presenting with arthritis, frozen shoulder, post-fracture stiffness, stroke-related mobility issues, and general deconditioning.
-
Exposure to Real Clinical Settings: Our internship sites include fully-equipped physiotherapy labs and units — the same facilities where our ongoing programmes with Blue Star Foundation and Dabur operate. You train in a professional environment.
-
Supervised Learning: All sessions are supervised. You will receive feedback on your assessment skills, exercise prescription, and patient communication.
-
Documentation Practice: Learn to maintain patient progress notes and basic assessment records — a skill that will serve you throughout your career.
-
Flexible Scheduling: We know your college schedule is demanding. Internships can be structured around your academic calendar, including weekend slots.
-
Certificate of Completion: Upon successfully completing your internship hours, you will receive an official Vridhcare certificate. This certificate is recognised and valid for college internship requirements, course submissions, and professional portfolios.
Key Sentence for Your College Submission: Complete your mandatory volunteer hours through an NGO physiotherapy internship with Vridhcare, a registered charitable trust with active physiotherapy programmes across multiple Indian cities.
This is not a passive observation programme. You will be an active member of the care team, responsible for guiding patients through their prescribed exercise routines and contributing meaningfully to their recovery journey.

Our CSR Partners in Physiotherapy
The facilities and programmes you will volunteer with are made possible through trusted corporate partnerships. When you volunteer with Vridhcare, you step into a professionally-supported ecosystem.
-
Blue Star Foundation: Supports physiotherapy units across four centres, ensuring sustained rehabilitative care for elderly beneficiaries.
-
Dabur: Funded the installation of a specialised physiotherapy lab at an old age home in Delhi, along with ongoing health camps and wellness activities.
-
Curapod: Collaborated with us on pain relief and mobility outreach in Hyderabad, bringing non-invasive pain management technology to elderly residents.
These partnerships validate our work and ensure that as a volunteer, you have access to proper equipment and structured programmes — not ad-hoc arrangements.
Who Can Volunteer?
Our physiotherapy volunteer programme is designed to be inclusive while maintaining high standards of patient care. We welcome:
-
Qualified Physiotherapists: Licensed practitioners who wish to donate their time and skills for community service.
-
Physiotherapy Students (Final and Pre-Final Year): BPT and MPT students looking for internship opportunities or practical volunteer hours.
-
Physiotherapy Interns: Those completing their compulsory rotary internship and seeking geriatric care exposure.
-
Healthcare Professionals in Allied Fields: Occupational therapists, rehabilitation assistants, and nursing students with a focus on mobility care may also apply (subject to availability).
Not a physiotherapy professional but still want to help? Our camps also require non-clinical volunteers for patient registration, crowd management, and logistics. Visit our volunteering page to learn more.
Why Volunteer With Vridhcare?
You have choices when it comes to healthcare volunteering. Here is why physiotherapy professionals and students choose Vridhcare:
-
Proven Track Record Across India: Our work is not theoretical. We have active physiotherapy programmes in Delhi, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Odisha. When you volunteer, you join an operational, impactful initiative — not a pilot project.
-
Access to Established Facilities: Our partnerships with Blue Star Foundation and Dabur mean you may work in properly equipped physiotherapy labs and units, not makeshift spaces.
-
Real Patient Impact, Every Session: You will not be shadowing indefinitely. From day one, you work with patients who genuinely need you.
-
Geriatric Specialisation Exposure: India's elderly population is growing rapidly. Experience in geriatric physiotherapy is increasingly valuable and often underrepresented in traditional clinical postings.
-
Structured Yet Flexible Programmes: Whether you choose camp-based volunteering, outreach participation, or a longer student internship, we have a clear structure so you always know what is expected — and we work around your schedule.
-
Recognition and Certification: Your contribution will be formally recognised. Our certificates carry the weight of a trusted NGO and are accepted by academic institutions.
-
Community and Connection: Join a network of like-minded physiotherapy professionals and students committed to serving the elderly. The bonds you form here often extend beyond the volunteering period.
