Volunteer for Eye Camps

Help Elders See the World Clearly Again

You can volunteer for eye camps in India through VridhCare, supporting free eye check-ups, vision screening, cataract camps, patient registration, awareness, and senior citizen outreach. VridhCare connects eye camp volunteers with organised initiatives that help elderly people access essential eye screening and cataract care.

For thousands of elders across India, poor vision is not just an inconvenience - it is a barrier to independence, connection, and dignity. At VridhCare, we organise eye camps that bring free eye screenings and cataract surgeries to elders living in old-age homes and underserved communities.

Our eye camp volunteers are the heartbeat of this mission. Whether you are a medical professional, a student, or someone with a kind heart, you can help restore sight - and restore life.

Why Become an Eye Camp Volunteer?

At VridhCare, we believe that restoring vision is one of the most powerful ways to protect an elder's dignity. When you volunteer with us, you are not just giving time - you are giving someone the ability to walk safely, read again, recognise loved ones, and live with confidence.

Here's why our eye camp volunteers choose to serve:

• Restore Vision, Restore Life: Help elders -n independence through free cataract surgeries at our camps
• Work Alongside Experts: Collaborate with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and healthcare professionals
• Make a Measurable Impact: Our cataract work has already supported 2,333 surgeries and 6,460 screenings
• Experience Deep Fulfilment: Elders carry a lifetime of wisdom - and often, all they seek is someone to listen, care, and be present

The Silent Crisis: Cataracts Among India's Elderly

Cataract, the clouding of the eye's natural lens, remains one of the leading causes of blindness among the elderly in India. For many seniors living in old-age homes, eye care is either unavailable or unaffordable. Without timely intervention, cataract gradually strips away independence, increases the risk of falls, and leads to social isolation.

At VridhCare, we work with 1,142 old-age homes across 28 states and 4 union territories. Our Cataract-Free Senior Citizen Mission brings eye screenings and surgery support directly to elders who would otherwise live in darkness.

But we cannot do this alone. We need compassionate eye camp volunteers to help us expand this work - especially in rural and remote areas where eye-care services are still limited.

• 6,460 Cataract Screenings Conducted
• 2,639 Elders Received Vision Restoration Aid
